Beach Resort for Senior Citizens to Enjoy a Holiday

Last Updated on August 27, 2024 by Jake

As an archipelago, we can’t run out of beautiful beaches for a holiday vacation. Seniors enjoy going out of town and having a relaxing experience. But are there senior friendly beach resorts?

Where to Go

Beach resorts nearby the Metro are usually located in Zambales, Bataan, Batangas and Quezon. These are the nearby areas where travel time is minimal. You can get in touch with any of your preferred resorts and take note of their facilities.

Bataan

Waterfront Beach Resort may just be a good spot for your elderly. They have bungalow rooms with basic amenities. The good thing is that these rooms are just in front of the beach.

Zambales

We have been frequenting this province whenever holidays are celebrated. One of the better options are Isla Vista Resort and Puerto Del Mar. If your senior parents enjoy a short boat ride, you can go to the popular Potipot Island.

Batangas

In the province, you may have a relaxing and peaceful stay either at Canyon Cove or Dona Nena. The swimming pools and relaxing view of Canyon Cove is suitable for chilling. On the other hand, a rustic version is available at Dona Nena.

Before you set an out of town trip, consider the factors we mentioned. We all want our seniors to enjoy it and they may just experience it with a good planning method.

How to Choose

Travel Time

Our lolos and lolas have certain needs when it comes to traveling. We care for their well-being that;s why it is best to look for a beach resort that requires minimal travel. As much as possible, the maximum travel time is at most 4 hours.

But let’s be realistic. Those beautiful beaches are truly far away from the cities so we need to allocate at least 6 to 8 hours of travel via land. Consider this factor especially if your parents or grandparents have a medical condition.

A good car for seniors should spell comfort in these long drives. Via plane, it will not be a problem since travel time is much shorter depending on the destination.

Amenities

It is practical to first research beach resorts’ amenities and facilities. Consider those that have accommodation that do not require the use of stairs. Our senior family members may have limited physical capacity so try to look for a bungalow type room.

In my experience, this is one of the primary concerns of our senior parents, the stairs. They always ask whether they need to go up and down whenever I plan to select a resort room.

Activities

You would expect that the elderly are no longer interested in adrenaline filled activities. Jet ski, banana boat or even a simple snorkeling may not be on their list of good activities to do.

Usually, they simply want to have a relaxing and calm day so choose a resort that has open spaces for chilling out. A small hut or a sun lounger would be perfect for a relaxing day.

Videoke? I don’t think so. As I’ve observed in our several years of beach going, I have never seen seniors singing their hearts out with this machine. Or maybe it depends on the group that we encounter?
