Some of our lolos and lolas are used to washing clothes the manual way. But now, they need a good washing machine to make their lives easier. Let me give you a list of washers that will make laundry convenient to the elderly.
What to Choose
Our senior family members are more prone to back aches and bending may not be good for them. We see a lot of traditional washing machines where the clothes are put on top.
These are called top load washers. My own mother was complaining about it when she had to pick up the clothes are washing. She said it hurts on the lower back. So, we will have to list only the ones called front load washers.
How about the price?
I have to warn you that most front loads are fully automatic so they are more expensive. But if you do not have the budget, top load may still be a good option.
If the user can still manage to use a single tub or twin tub washer, then expect them to be cheaper but has an opening at the top.

I know I mentioned that we should care about the seniors’ back but this unit is a good one for its price.
LG T2175VS2M 7.5 Kg
I would recommend this unit based on experience. We still have this washer bought in 2018. I has never had any major repairs and my senior mom still uses it as a back up. The washing and drying time still works well but you have to air dry the clothes later.

Can I use my ID for discounts?
No since appliances are usually not included in the discounted product list. If you do not have a car, you may have it delivered to your home. When I asked about the fee, they usually charge from Php 600 and up.
Operation Concern
I pointed out that top load washing machines may be a risk for back aches. However, front openings may also have some drawbacks.
The user needs to bend if the unit is below the waistline. It can be a challenge for those with back aches and knee pains due to arthritis. My recommendation would be to at least put the washer on a platform, just at the level where the user can comfortably access the opening.
