Are seniors entitled to 20% discount on expressway fees? As of the moment, there is still a pending law about the discount. Of course, we all want the senior citizens to have the best life they can get.
With a better rate for toll fees, they will have more money to buy other things like food and medicine.
I have noticed that some big malls have senior benefits. I am not sure how much but I also checked that senior drivers avail free parking in some malls just by showing their ID.
How Much is the Discount
Based on the report that I found from the National Senior’s Commission, the discount is still 20%. But this time, it will be applied to the RFID of the car and an equivalent amount will be added per load.
How to Get Toll Fee Discount?
PNA’s article also indicated in the proposed House Bill 5277 that an additional amount per load will be added, which represents the 20% benefit. For example, if the senior citizen will load his or her RFID sticker with Php 5,000, the total it will receive is Php 6,000.
When It Will Happen
As of the moment, it is still in the process of becoming a law. But once passed, the senior citizen drivers will not have a happy way to go out of town or have a vacation in their province.
